The big question is: is it possible to "profile" a monitor in one
mac, and then move it to another mac, copying the profile generated?
Would it be accurate to do so? Or is this hardware calibrating tool
not only "measuring" and creating a profile, but also "correcting"
values instead, so there is no chance to use the monitor in another
mac (and believe it is calibrated)?
The calibration is based on the videocard and driver involved, so
can't be assumed accurate on another system, especially jumping from
OS 9 to OS X. Besides, calibrators have improved a lot since then, and
calibrators that old may no longer be as accurate as when they were
new, either. A new calibration tool, even a low cost one, would be a
better option.
