This is inkjet parlance for device-level drivers that give control
over things like screening method, light inks, TIL, etc., as opposed
to "contone" drivers that rely on the manufacturer's own device
driver to handle such things and give you only indirect controls like
speed/quality and media type. The halftone driver for the Z31/3200
actually drives the printer as a 7-color device and requires a
CMYKRGB profile. It's very, very hard to write HT drivers for CMYK+N
printers, by the way, and most proofing RIPs still use contone
drivers for these.

Are you saying, Mike, that 7-color profiles are only useable in some
"dot"
proofing mode? I'm just not very familiar with multi-color "proofing".
