Perhaps you should consider a different approach then?
Just a thought. Next time somebody with 4 DTP94s and 2 Eye-One Pros and a number of wide gamut and good quality LCDs to experiment with posts their results here try NOT to send them an off-list email telling them that you "couldn't care less".
Because a few hours later one of the "colour scientists" whose views you value so highly might present test results that are congruent with what lowly end-users noticed in the unscientific world of pre-press two years earlier.
And then you're embarrassingly left asking for "real world" differences...
If you are _that_ interested why not do your own testing?
I'd hate this to be the beginning of "armchair colour punditry" where those with no colorimeters or spectros to test dictate the terms of the debate about their respective merits!
We shouldn't be afraid of posting your own findings to the list -- there are few as dismissive as you to the "anecdotal" (in fact you are the only one according to my limited testing).
