Paul,
Go back to Leopard. It is pretty clear that Apple has stopped caring
about printing on the Mac, and nobocy else can do anything about it.
Inkjet driver issues have got steadily worse over the past two years,
with Leopard breaking sporadically, and now some design changes in
Snow Leopard seem to have pushed the cart permanently over the edge in
that they make untagged printer space inaccessible from legacy apps,
and thereby create a system which no simple bugfix can repair anymore.
