Raimar,
That's a bit of alarming news!

I have the HP LP2475w, which is a relatively inexpensive wide gamut display, and I'd like to learn more about the calibration issues!

I use i1Match 3.6.2, an i1 Pro, and an i1 Display. When using the i1 Pro to calibrate the HP monitor, is the software the issue, or is the i1 Pro also not able to deal properly with a wide gamut display?

Thanks!

There are many good PVA and IPS units available for less than 500 USD.
However, more and more of them are equipped with wide gamut panels and the
EyeOne Display (like any other desktop colorimeter) will give wrong readings
on a wide gamut display. As the i1 Match software does not support wide
gamut corrections, there is no way out of this. Therefore, given the device
you want to use for the calibration, a standard gamut unit like e- IPS based
DELL that Peter mentioned is more likely better suited than a wide gamut
unit.

Raimar

And the HP monitors?
I'm not referring to high end Dream Colors, but the to mid range...

A new 23 inch or larger monitor for non-critical work. Will be

Dell 2209WA seems to be the best monitor (for colour work) for low money at the moment. But I have not had the chance to see it "live" yet.

Peter
