An apology, the C1 profile editor only works on the Phase one backs
profiles and not other cameras (or didn't) so you would not be able to
edit a D700 input profile with it.
It is possible but unlikely that C1 would release a bad profile, it is
also possible but unlikely that the Nikon is faulty. You mentioned you
gel the lights, I would suspect that. It is possible the gels are
chopping out some of the spectrum of light which is affecting the
rendering of skin tones. Does the profile work under daylight?
I cannot get a Linear file out of Capture one - it requires an input
profile so I suspect it is impossible.
Dave Coffin's excellent DC Raw (freeware) is probably the way to go if
you need a genuinely linear raw file (its command line so a bit of a
steep learning curve). Don't look at the resultant file - it will
scare the bejesus out of you - but it produces excellent fodder for
profiling software, linear gamma, no colour management etc.
