Having had an "early" cataract fixed in the left eye a few years ago, I have a little experience of this! The left eye is now "as new" and about 6500K (how to measure it?) and the OLD right eye, having yellowed with age about 5000K. So I guess the two together are about right, and would have the colour temperature of say a thirty year old! The left is also more contrasty. Or perhaps you could say that the left eye is "Paper Type 1".
Interesting subject though.
Cheers,
Phil

By the time you're toasty enough to roll over, the resulting chromatic adaptation will be a *lot* more than the 800K difference the author of the article describes.

But the closed / shaded eye thing was something I discovered as a young child, and it remains by far the most dramatic example I've ever come across.
