I still use the Spectroscan with a polarization filter for killer fine art matte and canvas profiles....it creates a profile with a bit of an artificially large color gamut and Dmax...but the shadow rendering thru these "polarized" profiles is stunning compared to my iSis and DTP70 profiles. Count me as one for increased polarization and less bipartisanship, at least when it comes to chart measurements!
Yea, I'm actually not to crazy about my iSis these days either....I'm finding that it seems to measure a much lower yellow ink chroma from at least offset "press yellow" than either my EyeOne Pro or DTP70....I'm starting to think that my iSis may need to be sent back for re-certification but I'd like to find out if other iSis users have the same issue. I've no absolute confirmation that it's "off" but at least three of my other spectros tend to agree with each other making the iSis the odd man out.
@Scott Martin:
I did give ColorPort 2.0 a try some weeks back but I couldn't make sense of the measurement data it was giving me....nothing matched from the different file format options and I've no idea what the XRGA format is doing with the data. I'd like to get some info on what ColorPort 2.0 is all about and what it's doing with the measurement data. When all of a sudden a new application gives me measurement data I'm not used to, I immediately don't trust it!
