Results in MS Word 2008 (Mac Edition) v12.2.3:
Placed three TIFFs:
1. The original sRGB
2. a copy with ProPhoto assigned (appears extremely over-saturated in

3. a copy that was converted to ProPhoto (appears identical to the
original
in Photoshop, as expected)
In Word, images 1 and 3 appear identical, and image 2 is extremely
oversaturated. Which indicated that this version of Word is indeed
honoring
the embedded profile. Not at all what I expected.
I did the same test using word 2004 (Mac Edition) v. 11.3.8
Images 1 & 2 appear identical, image 3 is very desaturated. This would
imply that Word 2004 just looks at the RGB numbers and NOT the profiles.
