The machine I saw in Germany certainly had directional apertures that can be fitted to the lighting, to address these sorts of inter-reflection issues.

profile-- you do not have access to a "raw" file-- just a rendered 16-bit tif.  Thne
result of this is a lot of post processing to get the colors right.

I know they have been working on improving their calibration and profiling :-)
