I'm wondering if and when display manufacturers will start adding primaries to the standard RGB set, much the same way that inkjet printers are now shipping with a dozen inks instead of four.
Not that even that's an especially new idea; Hexachrome has been around for ages....
(Wouldn't it be neat to have a thousands-of-ppi display with each pixel being a tunable monochromatic emitter of some sort?)
