That's what always caused me grief.
If the inks used are at all transparent the reflectance of any / all patches will seriously skew the data any commonly available profiling instrument will gather.
Opaque inks work better, at least once they achieve 100% coverage. In the end it's the nature of the substrate that imposes the greatest challenge, even more than with transparent or translucent media.
Sometimes you just have to accept the limitations of technology & do the best you can with what you have that gets the job done. _______________________________________________
