No wonder. It does not work.

This is preferred because it is more precise than profiling alone,

The problem with this approach, IMHO, is that it creates more work. Figure
having to maintain 5 different print conditions optimized printer profiles
on printer A, the same 5 optimized printer profile on printer B. What you
describe will take 10 minutes (at best) for each optimized print conditions
x 2 printers. That's close to an hour every time. With GMG printer
recalibration, it takes 10 minutes on each printer, tops.

That I'd like to see. Because I've resorted to this kind of trickery many
times with a particular client, using the result of conversion in printer A
to use as a source in printer B, and it does not work for me :(
