Do I need to upgrade to i1Profiler?

I am glad you asked this question, Steve. I don't have the answer.
However, I colleague in IPI has an i1 Pro rev "D". And spent quite a bit of money to upgrade so he could profile monitors, and read 918 patch targets.
My i1 Pro rev: "A" reads a lot more targets, CMYK, profiles monitors, and more.
Called our friends at X-rite tech, spoke with Bruce, twice, and he informed me my rev A has licenses far exceeding the rev D my colleague has. I gave Bruce the serial numbers of both the A and the D, so he could look up what the capabilities are of each. It is not the rev D, but the licenses he paid for.
Marketing! ! !
Bruce also suggest keeping my rev A and upgrading to the 'new software'.
I thought I wanted the rev D since it would read the 1728 patch target faster and cleaner. Oh well. I am open to suggestion and advice.
Cheers
