It does not appear to work in all cases with profiles other than Adobe RGB (1998), I don't have an explanation why, but I have seen the effect in the PDF print spool file, and it's not tagged in a manner that informs ColorSync to null convert. So ColorSync does a conversion that is not desired. It's best to use Adobe RGB (1998) as source and destination.
