The answer is simple, the colorsync list is aimed at discussions that
primarily revolve around apple products. It is a moderated list and the
moderator is quite gracious in allowing for departures from the main purpose
of the list.
You'll note that your are having the discussion here and the Chairman of the
ICC is part of it. If you are part of the Linked In ICC group, you will
note that most ICC members are part of the list and are actively responding
to issues.
Your assertion that the ICC windows are closed is patently absurd. Long
before I was a member of the ICC, much less chairman, my criticism was
accepted and I got replies. We have never stopped anyone from attending a
meeting (to the best of my knowledge), although they can't vote. We have
had at least one member that was not part of the steering committee request
to sit in the steering committee meeting. Once again, no problem, we
publish the minutes so there are no secrets.
With regard to test tools, we have a number of them but there are certain
trade mark and legal requirements that must be followed. For instance, we
need to review and clarify the copyrights inside profiles that are used in
test targets. We have this issue with the profile registry and we need to
get clear release from the owners of the intellectual property.
Now with respect to the use of the word "embarrass": Honorable Organizations
don't get embarrassed by mistakes. Everyone wants their products to work
well. The problem is allocating the resources and planning to correct the
mistakes. The priorities of certain companies may not align with the
priorities of customers, that is a fact of life.
Regards,
Tom
