The over all color is a fair match, but with Aperture I get a kind of posterized area in the shadows. I am using the same printer settings, same profile, built with a Colormunki. I have tried both perceptual and relative colormetric. (perceptual gives the best results) I m printing with an Epson Stylus Pro 4000, current versions of the OS, Aperture and the Adobe products. Is this because Aperture uses a different engine other than Adobe ACE?

Generally solarisation is caused by multiple input values mapping to the same output value. This can be caused by an input / output lut in the ICC profile that has flat spots or some other lut with flat spots being applied along the workflow.
It can also be caused by the lack of Black point compensation. Are the CMM settings, including BPC, the same for the 2 programs ?
