Hi all,
In my opinion it is a bit contrary.
In the good old times was the X-Rite engineering company with great products.
But X-Rite marketing failed to keep pace with Gretag - by faaaar.
About products - i.e. DTP20, in my experience, was always been better than Eye1.
But it is not so important. I do not want to cause a flame war.
Just choosing the device that will have my work faster and more accurate - according to my many years of experience.
Merger took place, it's a reality.
Gretag do not kill the X-Rite, X-Rite do not kill Gretag. Just some of the effects are better, some not.
But one thing is for sure - new marketing is "made in" Gretag :)
Well, as Steve mentioned, a lot of original X-Rite equipment remains on the market.
Years ago, "unnamed source" from X-Rite has promised to me that one day, there will be new devices, which will capitalize on the tradition and know-how of X-Rite. I look forward :))

I think the Epson unit is not new - ILS20 is in fact our sweetheart Pulse.
