I wouldn't think of trying to talk you into anything, but what is your beef with Epson? The 4000 is now a rather aged printer, and I shouldn't be too outraged if it were acting up by now. The problem as always with Stylus Pros is that there is no user option for replacing heads, and onsite service could cost more than the printer is worth. HP's best printers start at 24". The Z-series I know well--have two of them--give good results and have cheap, user-replaceable heads, but they are slow and very finicky--bossy, really. Maybe Canon really has the answer. If it were me, I would still get the SP 4900: fast, quiet, dependable, incredible image quality--top of the heap in 17" printers.
