Dear Tim,
That was an important detail. And I tried it already and it arbeit gut!
I must say I am very pleased with the way basICColor Catch drives the
Spectroscan.
To be able to read rows by rows instead of columns by columns cuts the
measuring time in almost half.
Why didn't GretagMacbeth thought of that way back 10 years ago, when they
first introduce the instrument is beyond me?
I noticed that Catch regularly recalibrates the Lino at every, oh!, 150
patches or so, avoiding the thermal drift issues noted by Ethan in
ColorPort.
Now, I did read the same IT8.7/4 target twice heute. And when I brought the
measurements into BabelColor PatchTool for visual inspection, the first
measurement file was not recognized as a standard IT8.7/4 Random test chart
but the second measurement file was. PatchTool was then able to reorganize
the patches according the standard Random format.
I will give another try at the this target tomorrow but I think Catch is a
solution for me.

Hello everyone,
basICColor catch works a bit different than other measurement
xy-instruments.
Other solutions are settings the dimensions of the chart by positioning the
cross into the middle of a patch.
But in basICColor catch the cross has to be set at the outer corner of the
patch to define/calculate the size of the chart.
If the cross is set to the middle of the patch basICColor catch will
calculate the size of the chart wrong and it won't read out the chart
correctly, because of the wrong size settings.

I hope this schematic graphic of the top left edge of a chart explains the
difference of the position?!
Best regards.
