Keynote is color managed on 10.8.2 and 10.8.3. Images with embedded profiles are matched to the display's profile, I just checked it. But you know, there's always a but. In this case that would be unless you have two displays and they're mirrored.
In non mirrored mode an external display's content is matched to the display profile of the external display, and the internal display's content is matched to the display profile of the internal display, just like you'd expect.
However in mirrored mode both displays are drawn from the same graphics memory, which has already been matched to a color space, meaning that in effect both displays use the same color space. In mirrored mode content on the external display is matched to the profile of the external display, but content on the internal display is matched to the profile of the external display. Since one's going to be right and one's going to be wrong, they went with preferring the external display.
So if you have an external wide gamut display with its wide gamut profile, and say a Mac Book with it's Mac Book profile, in mirrored mode content will only look good on the external display. In non mirror mode they'll both look correct.
