I've found that, with a quality, carefully-constructed profile and the proper workflow, RPP is capable of generating very high quality colorimetric images in the studio environment.
I haven't found the same to be true of Adobe's products. That's not surprising, though, since their whole development workflow is designed around "pleasing" (presumably, pleasing to Thomas Knoll and those who share his tastes) images in a wide variety of conditions.
I do, however, personally, find colorimetric renderings of even landscape and portraiture to be more pleasing than what Adobe's ``secret sauce'' delivers. But that could well be just me.
It's been years since I did anything with CaptureOne, so I can't comment on it.
Cheers,
