I would highly recommend that you take a look at the Techkon SpectroPlate. This device has no moving parts, a very large screen and a 1-megapixel live view camera - which make it unique. It's certainly my plate reader of choice and it's attractively priced too (of course I'd be happy to provide you a quote). You don't mention what plates you are using/measuring, however, if you are using a low-contrast or process-free plate you would need the "All-Vision" model, otherwise you should be fine with the "Start" version.
