I've never had a compatibility problem with Argyll, and I generally stay up-to-date with both. 1.5.1 works perfectly on 10.8.3, as does the previous version.
I also can't recommend Argyll highly enough. It's superb, it's free, and the support you get for free by Graeme himself as well as others on his mailing list is also great. (I'd suggest -- I've never heard Graeme suggest but I'll go ahead and make the suggestion -- that those who use it for commercial work have a moral obligation to throw some pennies his way, but that's between you and your conscience and your checkbook.)
I've heard good things about the DispCal GUI frontend for it, but I've never felt the need to give it a try myself.
