FWIW, the monitor I have is the NEC LCD3090WQXi.
I see, in a forum at <http://hardforum.com/archive/index.php/t-1478976.html>, that this monitor is described as a "classical pre-3D LUT wide gamut monitor," and that its limitation is that the RGB chromaticities can't be arbitrarily set.
Does that jibe?
