Some products 'befor and after' don't work <g>. I recall some whereby the first time you calibrate, you see the before. But thereafter, the 'before' is the state of the display from the last calibration which doesn't make much sense.
What you could do is view an image that is obviously not previewing correctly in a non ICC aware app. Something in say ProPhoto RGB. Or as I suggested, come up with a bad display profile that shows obvious color casts just to ensure it is being accessed and used.
