I've always relied upon DonRGB which you can download from the free section
on Don Hutcheson's web site, www.hutchcolor.com and in case you don't know
him, Don is a true genius and one of the most highly sought after color
management consultants anywhere. DonRGB has a D50 white point and a gamut
that's large enough for almost any printer without being so wide in gamut
(like ProPhotoRGB) so as to include colors that won't reproduce at the
expense of banding due to quantization.

Subject: In search of a D50 Editing colorspace
I am looking for a D50 editing space that will comfortably encompass the
colors our Epson7900 printer hits on our standard Photo papers.
eciRGB, ColormatchRGB, LstarRGB and BetaRGB all impinge on the colorspace
our Epson 7900 on Ilford Gold mono silk (glossy) as viewed in colorthink's
gamut viewer.
ProPhotoRGB encompasses the printer colorspace but is larger than I want.
The editing tools for ProPhotoRGB in photoshop only allowing me to move
around inside it as an 8Bit space. So single step color adjustments are not
particularly subtle compared with smaller spaces.
Any suggestions for a mid size D50 editing color space that will fit the
bill?.
Regards
Peter Miles
[I feel like Goldilocks having tasted some 'D50 spaces too hot' and the
'D50 spaces too cold', but still in search of a "D50 space just right" . ]
