There is NO problem, it is just that the diagnostics, at least at first,
could not spot mechanical disalignment of the head if the unit was bumped
in transit.
When I got my original XL from Xrite, it was packed very economically and
must have got dropped in transit and the head somehow got disaligned.
The diagnostics (then) couldn't see any problem, but all the profiles were
bad. Maybe the updated diagnostics are better.
I took the train to Zurich and brought back the replacement in person to
avoid transport issues again, and it proved to be a very good successor to
the DTP-70, capable of running huge 5000 patch Atkinson charts.
If you transport this device, pack it well. It is an expensive piece of
precision equipment, and deserves to be handled with care.
