Go for the gold.
Either "Coated GRACoL2006 (ISO-12747-2:2004)" which is Adobe's own GRACoL ICC profile
or one of IDEAlliance's GRACoL2006_C1 profiles.
I know there is a new generation of GRACoL ICC profiles off IDEAlliance's web site, labeled "2013".
You could use that one also.
Martin alluded to "ISO Coated v2 (300)" which should get you in the ballpark.
Personally, not that I have a preference for Adobe's.... but if I was in your shoes, I'd use Adobe's GRACoL's profile above.
Who knows, it may very well become the new CMYK default in the future?
For sure, avoid SWOPv2 like the plague.
My two cents...
/ Roger

ok—i wish to edit synthetic cmyk; i expect to print on quality stock—let’s say mohawk superfine white eggshell; as yet, i know not which press to target, but i should like to achieve excellent results: which space should i be in? one offering best chance for ripping into the widest possible gamut range of lithographic presses?
tia & best,
edward
