Not sure what you mean by, "unaltered border."
Image size is easy. Cmd-opt-I (same as in Photoshop) brings up the image resize dialog box (which I'm sure you can get to through a menu). There's a drop-down in there to specify the units for the document...it defaults to pixels, which is annoying. Same with canvas size, which is the familiar cmd-opt-C.
Affinity doesn't always properly pick up image resolution from TIFFs and instead defaults to, I think, 75 PPI. That's also annoying. But, if you know the proper resolution, you can change it easily enough. Just be sure to uncheck the "resample image" box.
