It's a bit hard to know exactly what he means, but a "rich black" is a specific color, so that is going to be addressed in a DLP. Assuming he's not talking about that but rather the black point of the profile, he may really mean allowing more chroma as a tradeoff for getting a darker black. i1P won't allow you to specify the precise composition of the profile black point (unless I missed it somewhere). Profilemaker did, and CoPrA does.
