Dear Greame and list,
i1Diagnostics does indeed automatically detect and correct this lamp problem with a „lamp restore“ - that’s what happened when I tested my overly drifting i1Pro2 a few weeks ago. This process was triggered and started automatically, drifting problem was gone afterwards.
Since I didn't know what had just happended to my device, I wrote an E-Mail to X-Rite support and got a reply from Liane Mai, where she explained the behavior and the reason with the tungsten deposits on the bulb glass. Pity is that I must have accidentally deleted her e-mail so I can’t directly quote her reply …
