ColorMunki & Shadow detail

A photographer client called me in to check the calibration & profile for her Windows machine. She’s using an Asus monitor and the ColorMunki system for calibrating and profiling her system.
(I know this is not a very accurate system, but it’s what she had and wanted to use.)
After running the calibration and profiling then checking with some target images the profile overall looked pretty good, neutrals were neutral etc.
But I noticed on checking a Black to White gray ramp the shadows looked a bit bright. In comparing some of her shots, primarily women with dark hair again the shadow detail in the hair looked a bit too light.
After suggesting we try my EyeOne Profiler with my spectro photometer she insisted on staying with the ColorMunki so we tried a few different settings, mostly adjusting the luminance values of the display. Setting this to around 100 cd/M2 she seemed more satisfied with the match, but the shadows still looked too bright to me.
Is this something that is typical with the ColorMunki? Or is there something else we could have adjusted with the display to get a better result?
Thanks!
Dennis Dunbar
