Heh, I got the same message on my P5000 two days ago. I also tried
everything except Power Cleaning, but also without any success.
I also tried to update printer's firmware, but also without success
because the printer is in Unknown state (as shown thru printer's web
interface), not in Ready state.
I found the following description of similar warning in P20000 guide:

Perform Powerful Cleaning on all nozzles.
You have not cleaned the print head nozzles in six months and Timer
Cleaning is set to Off.
Run a Powerful Cleaning cycle in the Administrator menu.
===============================
It seems Epson made this special feature to prevent head clogging...
