If you have good profiles for cross rendering, appropriate paper for proofing,
there's no reason why it can't be used. I've done similar with a 3880 (now own
a P800), you may need to consider if you'll need a substitute print driver if
dealing with CMYK pages rather than just images that could be proofedCMYK to
RGB through the native driver.
