Gary,
Pretty much your choices if you don’t like Fiery — can’t say I’m in
disagreement there — are ONYX and Caldera. Either will do what you’re asking,
which would be better for you probably boils down to personal preference.
However, just as a word of caution, it’s important to remember that in all
cases, it’s the profiles that determine how well a printer prints. Either of
these RIP’s will seriously out- or under-perform the other, depending on
profile quality.
