Hey Barry. I’ve done a little research and talked with some key players. Ss it
stands now, iccMax has no benefit for us end users just yet. XRIte choose to
support iccMax profiles very quickly so that researchers and developers could
get some iccMax profiles in their hands to play with and develop tools for.
i1Profiler’s iccMax profiles are just v4.3 profiles with an extra tag in them
that contains spectral data. This is smart because it has backwards
compatibility and the spectral data can be used by other apps in the future in
a variety of ways.
So people like you and I can sit back and watch as developers start to create
unique capabilities for use with these profiles.
