Dear Roger,
Histograms reflect rendered data, not the exposure data.
Exposure has nothing to do with lightness or brightness. Lightness is the
result of rendering (development), brightness you can change with a monitor
brightness knob ;)
Please make the raw file of the grey card shot available and we will see ;)
