supports a different "instructions set" than the 2?

Hi,
sorry, I don't understand what the aperture has to do with it. As
you know, the i1pro2 has an i1pro1 fallback compatibility mode, so it would
seem a reasonable possibility that the i1pro3+ has an i1pro2 fallback mode.
The change in aperture would only seem to be relevant in printing test
charts.
