Hi Tom,
True tone and auto brightness are disabled when you select, or make, a preset
with a specific gamut, white point, and luminace. Otherwise it would not be
consistant with the parameters you selected. Try Digital Cinema, Design and
Print, Photography, and Internet and Web to see the defaults. You can customize
from there. Here is the Apple description page for presets.

Interesting David,
So you use your edited P3-D65 and true tone, so the colour is adjusted for
ambient light? I have done similar using an eye one to adjust for ambient
light.
For us, we use a room with controlled lighting and no windows, so this true
tone adjustment shouldn't be necessary?
