I'm having some trouble with the Delta 66 on my development system, and
I am not sure where the problem lies, in our support for CoreAudio (we
use the HAL portion), inside CoreAudio.framework, or in the MidiMan
driver.
I've been having problems with the driver in question using
"off-the-shelf" applications. I don't have a diagnosis as precise as
yours but I have definitely noticed that over time, the driver
definitely gets into weird states where it generates bad sound and/or
confuses applications. There are too many variables...various
applications like SPARKle are buggy in their own right...so I've been
reading up on CoreAudio with the goal to write some simple routines of
my own to help point a finger of blame with more confidence.
Thus far the normal midiman tech support channels have been unhelpful.
Considering I've had even worse luck with the OS9 driver, I'm having
definite second thoughts on having spent money on a Delta card. I'm not
really interested in OS9 but I'd like SOME way to get a glitch-free
recording out of the card.
Incidentally, SPARKme/le is the most efficient application for confusing
the driver I've found so far.
