AGC on/off selector causes -231 error

Hi,

Attempting to use the siAGCOnOff selector in SPBGetDeviceInfo causes a -231 error (in Mac OS X).

Does this mean that AGC is permanently on or no longer available?

I don't want it on, ever. I need to explicitly control the gain of the input device.

err = SPBGetDeviceInfo(SoundInRefNum, siAGCOnOff, (Ptr) &originalAGCOnOff);
// (this returns error -231 on Mac OS X, but succeeds on Mac OS 9)

thanks.
