OK - So all of this should go in a bug report:
http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter

Why?

Discussing these things on a mailing list is a good way for them to *never*
be fixed - its really easy in a month from now not to remember the finer
points of this.

It is also really good to have an attached project (source and PB proj) that
demonstrates the problem in the bug report. That way we can easily reproduce
the problem.

Having it as a bug allows you to track its progress and verify the fix when
it is made...

Please (and this is a general plea!) if you see problems file a bug report.
The list is a great resource for clarifying issues, etc..., but not for
filing bug reports. Many times they won't get fixed because they get
forgotten...
