Yes they are small values. In other systems you can prime the buffers before
you start so that the value of the first sample out is under your control.
It just seems strange that while timing info is abundant in the API, that
you should start out having missed some playing time. How does this compare
when word clock is active ? Does it still startup at a random time in that
case?
