I was curious about this myself, but I would like to put a development spin
on it. Someone recently mentioned timing issues and I have heard that MIDI
via USB is a big timing problem. I have had problems (user-level) with USB
Audio in general under Mac OS 9.x and I am not very confident in the
technology. Since I am really not very knowledgeable about USB, audio and
MIDI in Mac OS 9.x or X, I will not pretend to be an authority on any of
these topics. I am curious about them though. I have experimented with some
QuickTime audio code under Mac OS 9.1 and I am interested in doing the same
with Core Audio. Once there is a way to hook up my MIDI controller to the G4
and use it in Mac OS X, I'll be ready to go.

Thanks,
Steve
