The SoftSynth is the MusicDevice component of ID=='dls '
If you run the FindUnits example in
/Developer/Examples/CoreAudio/Java you'll see it come up in the
list.
The SMFPlayer and MIDIGraph examples show you how to use this
component and set DLS or SoundFont files as the sample data source
for the synth
