iSub does not behaves like a normal USB device : when you plug the iSub
you don't
want to have all sound going through it, but has bass frequencies
filtered and the bass
signal go to the sub. So even if it is a USB audio device and thus can
benefit from
the work dobe for "normal" USB devices, it needs to behave differently.
Another argument, is that due to the fact that the maximum frequency
transmitted by the
iSub is low , you could work at lower sampling rates ( but I don't
remember if this work like that
for version 1...). And there are a lot of other details (like having the
sub volume and mute control
being dependant of the built-in or USB cube speakers (you may have
noticed that the sub is
working with every machine even the Cube on X)).
