To access the screen just use the RezLib (http://www.alienorb.com/RezLib).
RezLib is really for CFM carbon. You can use it other places, but I dont
think it is really necessary. If you are doing mach-o carbon or just
mach-o then CGDirectDisplay.h in CoreGraphics in the Applications Services
framework is really very nice.
