Yes. A 'RIFX' big-endian format was provided for as part of the full
RIFF spec, but AFAICT nobody has ever used it. In my own discussions
with some MS people they were most underwhelmed with the idea of using
it. There should be no need anyway, especially if Apple could endorse
some extensions to AIFF-C at least to support m/c speaker feeds a la
WAVE_FORMAT_EXTENSIBLE.
