Testing AudioUnits using Dave

Hello.

Okay, I have my sample AudioUnit loaded in "Dave" now. What's the trick to
getting audio to go through the graph that's created in "Dave"? I don't see
any input choices. Does "Dave" work on a system level, so that any audio
playback is redirected to go through the graph before being sent to an
output unit?

Basically I'm just trying to see if my custom AudioUnit "shell" is working.
All it does is flip the right and left channels of stereo-only audio. I'd
like to get "Dave" set up for testing this, ideally to the point where I can
toggle the graph on and off to hear the impact of the effect.

Is there documentation anywhere as to how to use "Dave" (other than its
About dialog) or on how the capabilities and configuring of Apple
AudioUnits?

Thanks,
David
